Dinner Menu at Cattlemens Restaurants

cattlemen's steak house

Since 1947, Cattlemen's Internationally Famous Steak House has been in the business of serving quality cuts of meat and other fine menu items for lunch and dinner, all with a friendly smile, in an authentic western environment. Savor the signature Heart o' Texas rib-eye, a nicely marbled slab, as you watch the cook sear it over an open fire—the dining room's focal point. Before these experiments, the chuck (aka the shoulder area of the cow) was considered good only for things like ground beef for hamburgers.

Cowhand Chicken Nuggets

But what Calkins and Johnson discovered in 2001 involved a particular part of the chuck called the top blade that had largely been overlooked for its high degree of connective tissue. When butchered properly, the top blade could actually be trimmed in a specific way to get rid of the sinew, resulting in an extremely flavorful and surprisingly affordable steak unlike anything on the market at the time. It required a significant amount of skill from butchers, but the end result was more than worth it. Cattlemen's Steakhouse is located smack in the middle of Stockyard City, a "must see" when visiting Oklahoma City.

PRIME CUTS, SIGNATURE TASTE

Today, we carry on this legacy by offering the finest quality steaks cooked to perfection, providing a dining experience that celebrates the time-honored traditions of the steakhouse. The origins of the first steak houses can be attributed to the rise of the cattle industry in the United States. As pioneers and settlers moved westward, cattle ranching became a significant part of the American economy. The first steak houses emerged in the late 1800s, primarily in the Midwest and on the East Coast. These establishments catered to ranchers, cowboys, and travelers, serving them generous portions of tender, juicy steaks cooked over open flames. Our steakhouse in OKC pays homage to these early establishments by offering a diverse selection of cuts and preparing them with the same dedication and skill that characterized the original steak houses.

Dubbing the result the flat iron steak for its resemblance to an old fashioned flat iron (broader at one end and tapered at the other), the NCBA went on a press blitz to popularize the new creation. The results were almost immediate, with flat iron rapidly becoming one of the top ten steak cuts in America both by volume and total sales over the next two decades. While their biggest hit, flat iron steak wasn't Calkins and Johnson's only success — if you've ever wondered what a Denver steak is or how you should cook it, that was another discovery of theirs.

Our steakhouse in OKC has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere coupled with mouthwatering steaks that keep guests coming back for more. Whether you're a resident or just passing through, a visit to our steakhouse promises a truly memorable and satisfying dining experience. There's one steak cut, though, that's more recent — way more recent — to the point where it's barely older than the iPod. This is the flat iron steak, which isn't just one of the best cuts of steak for a dinner party, but also a triumph of meat science. It all started in 1998, when the National Cattleman's Beef Association tossed substantial grant money to a couple of scientists in the hopes of finding a new type of steak that had somehow been previously overlooked.

And, by golly, if a few greenhorns manage to wrangle their way into the boot shop, that's okay, too. They won't find any "My parents went to Stockyard City and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" shirts or Elvis salt and pepper shakers. But they may leave knowing what a real steak tastes like, and that real boots don't come from Bloomingdale's. With several locations in the surrounding areas, we take pride in sourcing locally and supporting our community's suppliers. Our commitment is to deliver the finest cuts of premium beef, aged to perfection, and cooked to your preferred doneness, all while maintaining our local roots and values. It may seem odd that "meat scientist" is an actual career, but it's true — at least for Chris Calkins of the University of Nebraska and Dwain Johnson of the University of Florida.

In addition to being a delicious cut known for both flavor and affordability, it's also very versatile, as one of the best cuts of beef to use in place of flank steak (despite coming from a completely different part of the cow). It does very well with marinades and makes a great cut for tacos, whether you treat it as a slow-cooked meat or grill it. Steak houses have gained immense popularity across the United States and have become a beloved dining experience for people from all walks of life. While they can be found in various cities and towns throughout the country, certain regions have become synonymous with exceptional steakhouses.

In the late '90s, they put that title to good use when the NCBA gave them a $1.5 million grant to find an entirely new cut of steak. The pair tested 5,600 muscles to try to find something to fit the bill, and while they ultimately narrowed it down to 39 possibilities, there was one that stood head and shoulders above the rest. Foreign and domestic fashion publications are available for student reference as well as an extensive collection of historical fashion magazines. The Sharon Tate Costume Collection houses a vast collection of apparel from noted designers and historical costumes, used to inspire students and offer creative solutions to design problems. In addition, the apparel community provides internship opportunities for department students through the Cooperative Education courses. These internships offer students real life experiences and potential for permanent employment. Employment of graphic designers is projected to decline by 2% over the next decade, according to BLS data. However, opportunities in UX design and related roles should grow as companies invest more in digital experiences.

As you complete computer graphics projects, add them to an online portfolio or website that you can use when applying for jobs, taking on contract work, or networking with others in this field. Be sure the portfolio displays the visual aspects of your work, your skills, and how your work is used. Consider sharing your portfolio on social media and resume, and even creating a profile on talent sites such as Upwork or Fiverr. Sign makers design and produce signs to advertise and identify businesses, industries, public services, entertainment, as well as other areas. Students learn how to design and execute a wide variety of signs including temporary signs such as posters and paper banners plus permanent signs on wood, metal, canvas, vehicles, walls and glass.

The job outlook for graphic designers is expected to be steady through 2026. New media, such as digital and mobile platforms, are now the most popular way to reach consumers. This increased interest in new channels will create opportunities for graphic designers to develop graphics for websites, presentations, marketing materials, software, apps, and video production. Creative Cloud Express is a relatively new offering from Adobe that goes directly against the highly successful Canva.

Graphic designers often specialize in brand-centric work designing visual elements for companies. They use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design tools to convey messages and ideas. Jim Blinn also innovated further in 1978 by introducing bump mapping, a technique for simulating uneven surfaces, and the predecessor to many more advanced kinds of mapping used today. James Clark was also there; he later founded Silicon Graphics, a maker of advanced rendering systems that would dominate the field of high-end graphics until the early 1990s. Electronics pioneer Hewlett-Packard went public in 1957 after incorporating the decade prior, and established strong ties with Stanford University through its founders, who were alumni. This began the decades-long transformation of the southern San Francisco Bay Area into the world's leading computer technology hub – now known as Silicon Valley.

Whether you’re rendering 3D models, editing high-resolution videos, or running multiple Adobe programs simultaneously, the Yoga 7 AiO keeps up. The first half of the two-part series introduces Adobe Illustrator, one of the most popular illustration and page-design programs. This course will give in-depth lessons on topics including drawing tools and techniques, transformation tools, colors, and working with type. The second half of the two-part series helps students gain a better understanding and working relationship with Adobe Photoshop. This more in-depth approach to Adobe Photoshop will cover vector drawing, advanced compositing, editing video, working with 3D images, and preparing files for the web and printing. The job of a typeface designer is to create original fonts that can be used in digital applications, such as websites or adverts.

This can be discouraging for budget-conscious designers, as the Mac Mini is already more expensive than many AiO machines, and these extra accessories further up the cost. The first half of this two-part series introduces students to design elements and the principles needed to create effective visuals for communication. Students will explore basic composition, typography, and the fundamentals of color. If you're applying for a job at a publishing company, include some of your editorial design work. If you're applying for a job as a user interface designer, include screen designs and wireframes prominently in your portfolio.

Graphic designers use their knowledge of design, colour, and typography to visually communicate a message or present a product. They create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers. As part of the creative team, they collaborate with artists, copywriters, and marketing managers to develop visual solutions that effectively promote a product or service. This includes support for Microsoft's Surface Pen stylus (included), which can be a game changer for those who want to be able to hand draw vectors or selections without using a graphics tablet. Computer Graphics courses teach students the fundamentals of creating and manipulating visual content using software tools. Topics covered include 2D and 3D graphics, animation, rendering, and image processing. Students gain practical skills for careers in animation, game development, virtual reality, and more. The amount of time it takes to learn computer graphics will vary depending on the educational route you choose.

After the testing phase, we compiled feedback from all professionals involved in the testing process. Sinden created a film called Force, Mass and Motion illustrating Newton's laws of motion in operation. Around the same time, other scientists were creating computer graphics to illustrate their research. While I would've preferred a quieter atmosphere (the DJ did not, in fact, play smooth jazz), the pool's views, day beds, and lack of screaming children were hard to beat. I spent my time there perched at one of its in-water loungers, contently splashing my legs around the water, wondering if I actually hated cruises. If you want to feel like you're drinking in a nest atop a tree, bring your coffee-infused cocktail from nearby Rye and Bean to one of the elevated pods.

manhattan cruise terminal parking

This may be something to consider when making your final decision for parking near the Manhattan cruise terminal. You don’t need to worry about transferring to any shuttles, or obtaining additional transportation to the port, as you are already there. You simply drive up directly to the port, park your car, and then head over to board the ship. There are two cruise piers at Manhattan Port (Pier 88 at 48th Street and Pier 90 at 52nd Street). When only one cruise ship is in port, it will embark or disembark from Pier 90.

Transportation to the Terminal (Best Ways to Get Around)

Once inside, terminal employees will guide you to the appropriate line. Lines are divided by loyalty program membership level, as well as cabin category. The roads are laid out differently, and the city is full of people all trying to get somewhere. If you plan to do some sightseeing, the recommendation is to not drive in the city at all and use public transportation instead.

Onboard Experiences on Celebrity Eclipse

For lively, diverse entertainment, the versatile Celebrity Central is the perfect destination. Catch a late night comedy show, an engaging presentation from one of our Beyond the Podium Speakers, or a great movie in a comfortable, casual atmosphere. Dance the night away in a vibrant nightclub designed for those ready to kick back and get down. Quasar is a modern nightclub like no other you will experience on the open seas. With a retro touch, it will feel like the perfect spot for adults of all ages, luring you in with its electrifying pulse.

Celebrity Eclipse - Family Ocean View Cabin

The in-room automation allows you to control everything from lighting, to shades, to temperature, and service with a simple touch screen. You can even choose a setting that will tuck you in and gently wake you in the morning. As a popular Solstice Class cruise ship, Celebrity Eclipse offers a high percentage of staterooms with private verandas. One of her unique features is the amazing Lawn Club, with fresh grass and a country club ambience, used for croquet, bocce, outdoor concerts and simply relaxing.

Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans

Call ports include Valparaiso-Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Montevideo (Uruguay), Antarctic Peninsula. Follow our social media and blog for the latest cruise and travel news, including our best vacation deals. Celebrate something special with Celebrity Cruises' holiday or themed cruise vacations. Golf, pink-sand beaches, and luxurious and tasty beachside eateries are among the host of wonderful features to enjoy about a cruise to Bermuda.

Children and Youth Services

The Eclipse is one of Celebrity’s Solstice-Class ships, which as a group have features unlike any other ship sailing today. Here you can keep your hands busy and express yourself through painting, pottery and jewelry making. Need some inspiration before you put paintbrush to canvas? Be sure to check out the Hot Glass Show where the incredibly fascinating art of glassblowing is performed in front of your eyes at the Celebrity Eclipse’s outdoor studio. For a truly delicious work of art, dine at Qsine, where food is presented in a unique way.

Unlike other cruise lines, Celebrity Cruises allows passengers to take photos and encourages them to share them on social media. Celebrity prides itself on providing enjoyment for all ages that is high quality and in line with its premium brand. While most cruise lines tout their entertainment, I was very impressed with the range of shows and especially the quality of performers. Sushi on 5 offers the traditional sushi rolls, sashimi, hot pots, nigiri, and starters. If you don’t want to eat Japanese for dinner, you have the option to go for lunch. Not surprising, this restaurant is Italian-inspired, but its location at the rear of the Eclipse is one of my favorite features because it provides some fantastic views.

The staff works tirelessly to provide cruisers of all ages and interests with a range of activities and fun to keep them happy and amused during their sailing. You really can’t go on a cruise and not check out your cruise ship’s theater. There’s usually always something going on, no matter which cruise ship you’re on, especially if it’s during a sea day.

From finding the right destination to choosing the best departure date, we're here to help. Plus, our experienced travel consultants have access to exclusive vacation deals to make sure you get the best value for your time and money. Sip on refreshing cocktails as you unwind poolside, losing yourself in the live music and gentle sea breezes.

Stretching classes are available for free in the mornings, but the other fitness classes aren’t too pricey as it is. Tastings, art auctions, exhibits and more can all be found scattered throughout the ship’s many decks. If you’re a new cruiser, I would highly recommend the Celebrity Eclipse as one of the premium ships within the Celebrity fleet. We knew this in advance, so we took enough clothes to last our 12-day cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii. To save money on laundry, I had seen more than one passenger carrying a large plastic bag of laundry that they carried off the ship to use the local laundromat during one of the port days. Celebrity does not offer a self-service laundromat, so passengers must pay to have clothes laundered during the cruise.

Canyon Ranch Spa

The menu consisted of two different main courses to maximize the impact of the integrated show. During your dining experience, the lights dim, and the silent Le Petit Chef appears on your table while he catches or cooks your next course. The Oceanview Café is the daily buffet that is open daily from early morning until late in the evening. We had most of our breakfasts here, and other than occasionally waiting for a table during peak times, we always had a great experience.

Celebrity Eclipse is a Solstice-class cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises. She was the third vessel built in the Solstice series, later followed by the Silhouette and the Reflection. Celebrity Cruises has a strong brand and positions itself as an premium cruise line. I sailed on the Celebrity Eclipse ship as part of my honeymoon cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii, and in this review, you’ll discover what we loved about the ship.

Our meticulously thought out Prime Concierge Class staterooms with infinite veranda, where the little details make a world of difference, are now even better. Featuring services, amenities, and exclusive events, step inside and discover a room that’s so much more than a room—it’s an experience. Prime Concierge Class staterooms are well-appointed, personal retreats located in the most-desirable locations on the ship. As a Concierge Class guest, your team of dedicated professionals will take care of all your vacation needs.

Celebrity has the Fun Factory for kids and X Club for teens. During peak family season, these areas can often have hundreds of kids of all ages, and the area is professionally managed with a wide variety of activities. We visited the Martini Bar a couple of times just to watch the talented bartenders create intriguing cocktails and the show-stopper Martini Flight in full action. Silent disco is not unique to Celebrity Cruises, but this is a ‘must-try’ evening activity. It’s a fun activity where everyone on the dance floor is wearing a wireless headset but listening to different tracks of music. You can pick your own theme, and the headsets glow in different colors according to the type of music.

Immediately after setting foot on the ship, we were handed a glass of champagne. What a nice touch because it made us feel like we were at a party, a celebration. Celebrity Cruises Eclipse ship was launched on February 28, 2010. The liner belongs to the company's Solstice-class vessels, with sisterships Equinox, Reflection, Silhouette, Solstice. Eclipse was built by Meyer Werft at Papenburg Shipyard (Germany).

The Deluxe Ocean View Cabin with Veranda is the largest cabin category on the Celebrity Eclipse, with 719 cabins (categories 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D). The cabins have 194 square feet with a 54 square foot veranda, the same size as the Concierge Class and AquaClass cabins. Get your taste buds ready for something special, with exceptional culinary choices at over 10 delicious dining venues.

The bathroom was roomier than other cruise lines, and I especially liked that the shower had a door and no pesky shower curtain. While the Millennium class ships like the Celebrity Summit are popular, the Solstice class is 30% larger. The Eclipse is the sister ship of Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Reflection, and Celebrity Silhouette. Celebrity Cruises Eclipse ship was the first large liner homeported in Dublin Ireland.

The Most Popular Cruises for 2024 & 2025

Don’t Miss the Details in The Golden JubileeThe Golden Jubilee is a bar with a theme dedicated to Carnival’s history. And at first you might notice only a couple of things like the blueprints of past ships adorning the ceiling. But check out the QR code at the back of the drink menu for a link to information about all the items in the bar. There are the original doors that went to the nightclub on the retired Carnivale. The tables with Al Hirschfield drawings are from Carnival Fascination, and there is even a glass-wall panel that used to be in the casino on the original Mardi Gras.

Staterooms

Carnival's thrilling water parks now have to make room for a top-deck roller coaster, and the RedFrog Pub has been replaced by the indoor hangout in the Summer Landing zone. To be fair, most of Carnival Celebration's modern updates were debuted on sister vessel Mardi Gras, which launched in 2021. Carnival Celebration is now the second ship in the fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas. It's also the biggest ship Carnival has ever sailed, along with Mardi Gras, carrying 5,282 passengers at double occupancy.

Family Feud Live

New with the Excel class is Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken venue serving variations on the fried-chicken-and-biscuit theme from breakfast through the late afternoon. Carnival's pizza is some of the best in the biz, and the customizable tacos and burritos at BlueIguana offer something for everyone. The water park has three different slides to suit all tastes plus a splash park, and the mini-golf course is a fun time and actually tricky.

This would be my first cruise aboard one of Carnival Cruise Line’s new Excel Class ships. I had only been able to have a brief media visit preview for a day aboard Carnival’s Mardi Gras before her inaugural cruise. I have sailed numerous times aboard many classes of Carnival Cruise ships, so I was excited to have the opportunity to experience this incredible ship firsthand. We’d try specialty restaurants again on a future cruise, but it’s harder to justify spending the extra money on something similar when there’s plenty of good food available that’s included in your cruise.

CENTER STAGE + PLAYLIST PRODUCTIONS

You won’t go hungry on the Celebration, even when you’re not paying extra for the specialty restaurants. Over we found the food not quite as good as on other cruises, we still rated it slightly higher than the higher-end all-inclusive resorts we’ve been to recently, such as the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana in Punta Cana. Located on top-deck (deck 19), Loft 19 is a new VIP leisure concept (secluded retreat for adults) designed as a premium resort complex. Here are offered full bar service, swimming pool, sunbathing area with cabanas, deckchairs and sun loungers available for rent. The cabanas are fully-stocked with beverages, chilled towels, plush bathrobes and provide dedicated concierge service with lunch delivery and fresh fruits. Carnival Excel Suite passengers enjoy priority cabana reservations.

BOLT: ULTIMATE SEA COASTER

Carnival's Excel-class ships offer more cabin types than ever before, with family cabins, Havana cabins with patio swings, and all kinds of suites. I stayed in a standard balcony cabin with my family of four and was impressed by how well designed the room was to accommodate four people in a small space. One of my favorite things about Carnival is that the line's ships offer a diversity of casual, included dining venues.

Where does Carnival Celebration sail to?

Plus, it has an adjustable shower head with a removable wand and a shave bar in one corner — thoughtful touches. Throw back a few drinks with your loved ones as you enjoy the live performance band for the evening. Vibe is a full arcade room with interactive games and a 6-foot basketball shooting contest game, with plenty of space for our adolescent cruisers to meet new friends and hangout. It’s a sake-based drink with pomegranate liqueur and other flavors. But when it’s served, the bartender puts a huge bubble on it that you pop with tiny rose petals as you make a wish. So no matter if you want a quick bite, or want to sit down and have the full meal experience, you have plenty of options.

Bonsai Teppanyaki

Now that everything is done on the app, you must utilize it during your next cruise. I had the pleasure of sailing aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Carnival Celebration. Our sailing was one of her first from Port Miami, I was invited to sail as a guest with a media group. Our itinerary was a seven-night cruise from Port Miami, and we sailed a Western Caribbean cruise itinerary with port stops in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Mahogany Bay.

How much does it cost to go on Carnival Celebration?

celebration cruise

On the Lido deck, cruisers can get customized burritos, bowls, or tacos for breakfast and lunch at the Blue Iguana Cantina. In the morning, the burritos are among my favorite breakfast options on any cruise ship. Lunchtime burrito and taco options include chicken, steak, or shrimp, with a custom salsa bar.

We’re big fans of the Oasis class ships by Royal Caribbean, and we’re interest to see how Carnivals largest class of ships compared. We decided to give the Celebration a try, on a completely full (sold out, we couldn’t even add another guest to our room) cruise, and here’s what we found in this Carnival Celebration cruise ship review. Carnival Celebration has the fleet's third "Big Chicken" restaurant at sea (by Shaquille O'Neal). Many menu items are developed by the basketball player himself, the rest are based on the celebrity's favorite food recipes.

Seafood Shack serves lunch and dinner and is priced a la carte starting at $4. Even when you’re looking to the future, you still think about the past. So that’s why — if you were us — you might pay tribute to 50 years of Carnival fun and history by creating a space like The Golden Jubilee™! The décor transports you decades back through time, and this aesthetic is made of actual artifacts from Carnival ships of the past, mixed with design elements inspired by our earliest ships. This may just remind you to think about the fun history you’re creating throughout your vacation.

Nickola in the Jubilee Bar liked to joke while showing off his mastery bartending skills. Other bartenders were equally eager to add some additional flare while mixing up cocktails. I loved how the atrium area is now more incorporated into the daily flow of the ship, rather than an area you pass by to get somewhere else. The shows are stunning, with the action extending beyond the stage, including into the air.

During the day, Celebration Central Atrium serves as a relaxing space for enjoying beverages, light food, live music or participating in trivia contests and leisurely pursuits. With nearly 5,900 other cruisers onboard, Carnival Celebration did a much better job handling the crowds than some other mega-ships from competitor brands. The fun squad utilized the various onboard spaces for activities and offered several showtimes for entertainment to accommodate this sold-out cruise. Many of the other bars found on Carnival Celebration are familiar favorites. There is the Latin-inspired Havana Club shaking things up with a themed menu and live music most nights of the cruise.

In conclusion, while there were a few minor setbacks, the pros of our trip aboard the Carnival Celebration outweighed the cons. We found this ship is perfect for active families like ours, looking for fun and adventure. So Carnival Celebration has got you covered whether you’re a family seeking luxurious comfort or needing specific accommodations. So, while it’s still a great upgrade over an interior room, we’d select a normal ocean-view balcony on the next trip. Most indoor areas have low ceilings and don’t feel very spacious.
